With everything going in the Christian community today, can we afford another scandal? Unbelievers in today’s society are trying their best to take God and other religious beliefs out of everything.
We have those out there who say why should I go to church there are so many wrong doings and it’s all about the money?
I don't trust the Priest, Pastors, Bishop, and Ministers and so on, they are doing more sin than those they are teaching or preaching to.
Should we care about who our leaders are sleeping with?
Should we care about what they do on their own time behind closed doors?
Are we guilty until we prove our innocents?
On Tuesday September 21, 2010 two men filed a lawsuit claiming that the Prominent Atlanta, Georgia pastor Eddie Long coercied them into sex. The allegation filed said that the pastor used his position as a spiritual authority on his employees as well as young men members of his New Birth Missionary Baptist Church.
According to CCN on Wednesday a spokes man for Long told them the allegations are “a case of retaliation and a shakedown for money by men with some serious credibility issues.”
Long who is considered one of the nation’s top black preachers is denying these allegations and denouncing homosexual behavior. An article in the Southern Poverty Law Center’s magazine called him “one of the most virulently homophobic black leaders in the religiously based anti-gay movement.”
Do you think this will impact the black churches around the nation? Why and Why not? Please let us know what you think about this scandal?
