Life is a challenge. As the saying goes, just when you're about to make ends meet, someone moves the ends. While it can be a struggle to pay bills, making the rent payment and provice food and clothes for the family, we keep on doing our best. Ultimately, the life we want-a better place to live, enough money to pay our bills and fewer concerns acout finances-is poosible if we keep focused on our goals.

Word For The Day 12-11-10
The Joy of Giving
It's better to give than to receive. You can't out give God. It's a blessing to bless others. Sound familiar?
These phrases remind us that when we help someone, many times we feel more blessed than the person we're helping.
Our Heavenly Father has a funny way of showering us with His Love when He sees that we are following His heart and serving others with the Love of Chirst. As we grow in our Faith, our desire to show Gods Love to others increases. This Love is best expressed when we are serving, helping, caring and meeting needs.
Such generosity is expressed throught giving money, resources, time and energy as well as using prayer and spiritual gifts to build up the body of Christ.
God wants us to be generous, but as we extend a helping hand, the Lord also blesses us for our action. Today think of the ways you share your time, gifts and resources.
How could you give more in these areas?
And as you've grown in your walk with the Lord Jesus, how has your giving increased or changed? Why?
God blesses us for our Obedience to Hime. Read 2nd Corinthians 8:1-9, and 15
Proverbs 22:9 He that hath a bonuntiful eye shall be blessed for he giveth his bread to the poor.

The various enviornments thats children encounter in day-to-day life have an impact on their overall behaviors and attitudes. Word of the day 12-4-10
Have you made room for Jesus?
How can we expect to be filled with God's presence if we have not made room for Him? The Christmas season in our culture has become like a jigsaw puzzle.
We truly want it to be a set apart time of celebrating Jesus' birth. But good intentions often get buried with more activity, more expectations of ourselves and our families, more clutter, more noise, more worldly things. And yet, if celebration Christmas (as the story tells us) is really worshipping and encountering Christ in all His humility, glory, and mystery, then what we need is less, Simply, less of us to make room for more of Him.
Jesus tells us over and over dwell in me, and I will dwell in you.
John 15:4 Make room for me and I will knock down all your walls from the inside out and open up your heart to life and freedom.
Prepare ye the way of the Lord Isaiah 9:6, 40:3 KJV; indeed Advent is a time of preparatin not for us to clean up fix up ourselves, or to do things frantically in hopes of pleasing God and everyone else. Instead, it is a time to let go of all the clutters our heart,so that we can give it to the bearer of both our sins and our burdens.
It is a time to make room for Jesus, to move into our living space, renewing our spirits making it possible for us to serve Him.
Let every heart prepare Him room Let Heaven and Nature sing.

Word For The Day 11/27/10
Are you recovering from a broken relationship? If so, dont't rush into another one. Take your time. Unhealthy people make unhealthy choices.
Some wounds take longer to heal than others, but you can count on this: He healtheth the broken in heart. All God ask is that you give Him a chance. Begin by taking time to search Gods word and find out how he feels about you. Gods opinion is the only reliable basis upon which tho base your self-worth.
If a perfect God can love you with full knowledge of your struggles and imperfections, then the messge is lighten up on yourself. You can love and beloved again, but only with the same wholeness with which you love yourself. Next time make sure your choices are healthy ones, not predicated on need or the fear of being alone.
Remember you train others to treat you by how you treat yourself. Actually, as you become healthier you will start seeing how unhealthy some of your choices have been. If some people walk away, so be it. sometimes you have to give up less in order to have more.
God's got wonderful relationships in store for you, but He's waiting untiel your values and perceptions line up with His. So take it step by step, one day at at time. And don't forget to rejoice, your best days are ahead.
Read PSALM 147:3

Word For The Day 11/20/10
If you're going to grow in the kingdom of God, you're going to do it just like a seed that's been planted in the ground.
How does a seed grow? All at once?
No it grows constantly 24 hours a day, a little at a time until it accomplishes what it was created to do.
Many of us do not operate that way spiritually.
We study and we pray very hard for a few days and then quit.
Then when some disaster comes, we make a mad attempt to pray and stand on the word,
all the while realizing that for some reason, we're just not strong as we ought to be.
There is not such thing as an overnight success in the kindgdome of God!
Real strenght, real growth comes as you constitently and constantly keep the Word of God before your eyes, in your ears, and it the midst of your heart.
Not just when you want something of when youfeel like it, but CONSTANTLY, like the seed, a little all the time.
Make up your mind to begin that daily process of constant growth today. Read Luke 13: verses 18-21
Remember to walk in Love and feed on the Word Daily.

Todays Topic with Special Guest Changa talking about issues Facing Black America.
This is a very large and wide topic. So, I figure that we could maybe focus in on some issues such as education, relationships, social mobility, and historical legacies that have contruibuted to these issues.
1) What can acount for the wide education gap that we see between Black students and their white conterparts?
2) How does this gap impact Black students down the line?
3) Within the Black race, why are there so many divides and disagreement?
4) What are some simple things that Blacks can do individually to improve their lot?

The reason many people don't get answers from God
Is the same reason a thief does not find a policeman: he is running away.
How we position ourselves to receive from God makes all the difference.
To one person the world is desolate, dull and empty: to another
person the same world looks rich, interesting, and full of meaning.
The Choice is up to you.
It's the same way a twenty dollar bill can look so big when it is given to the church; and so small when it goes for groceries.
Position yourself to receive from God, not resist Him.
How you see things on the outside of you depends on how things are on the inside of you.
Any fact facing us is not as important as our atitude toward it, for tht dertermines our seccess of failure.
You and I do dont see things as they are. We see things as we are.
Never complain about what you permit
Don't be like a wheelbarrow--going no further than you are pushed by others.
Psalm 34:5 says; Committ your way to the Lord, trust also in Him and He shall bring it to pass.

Half of the senate is up for re-election every two years. State senators are term limited to two four-year terms.
Incumbents are running in 7 out of the 17 districts up for re-election. These include districts # 2, 4, 10, 12, 16, 18 and 22. In the remaining 10 districts, every incumbent is ineligible to run because of term limits.

Term limits

The Missouri State Senate has been a term-limited state senate since Missouri voters approved Amendment 13 in 1992. Amendment 13 created Section 8 of Article III of the Missouri Constitution, limiting state senators to 2 4-year terms. This is a lifetime limit, as is the case in 5 other states with state legislative term limits. Section 8 was later amended by Amendment 3 in 2002 so that it does not apply to partial terms.
Altogether there are 34 Missouri State Senators. In 2010, 10 of them who are current members are ineligible to run for the senate again in November. They are:
Democrats (2):
Joan Bray
Rita Heard Days
Republicans (8):
Carl Vogel
Charlie Shields
Dan Clemens
Delbert Scott
Gary Nodler
John Griesheimer

Missouri Dog Breeding Regulation Initiative, Proposition B (2010)
According to the Missouri Secretary of State's office, the official ballot title reads as follows:[7]
Official Ballot Title:
Shall Missouri law be amended to:
require large-scale dog breeding operations to provide each dog under their care with sufficient food, clean water, housing and space; necessary veterinary care; regular exercise and adequate rest between breeding cycles;
prohibit any breeder from having more than 50 breeding dogs for the purpose of selling their puppies as pets; and
create a misdemeanor crime of “puppy mill cruelty” for any violations?
It is estimated state governmental entities will incur costs of $654,768 (on-going costs of $521,356 and one-time costs of $133,412). Some local governmental entities may experience costs related to enforcement activities and savings related to reduced animal care activities.
Fair Ballot Language:
A “yes” vote will amend Missouri law to require large-scale dog breeding operations to provide each dog under their care with sufficient food, clean water, housing and space; necessary veterinary care; regular exercise and adequate rest between breeding cycles. The amendment further prohibits any breeder from having more than 50 breeding dogs for the purpose of selling their puppies as pets. The amendment also creates a misdemeanor crime of “puppy mill cruelty” for any violations.
A “no” vote will not change the current Missouri law regarding dog breeders.
If passed, this measure will have no impact on taxes.
Support
Puppy Mill Cruelty Prevention Ballot Petition, 5/2/10
According to supporters they are "specifically focusing on large-scale breeding facilities." The main organization in support of the initiative is Missourians for the Protection of Dogs. It is a coalition made of the following groups: Humane Society of Missouri, Missouri Alliance for Animal Legislation, American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and the Humane Society of the United States.[8] On May 10, Missourians for the Protection of Dogs unveiled the support of Cardinals skipper Tony La Russa and Linda Bond, wife of U.S. Sen. Kit Bond.[9][10] The Jackson County Legislature also endorsed Proposition B.[11]
Arguments
Barbara Schmitz, of the Missourians for the Protection of Dogs said, "The regulations on the books now...ensure that dogs in these facilities survive, but don’t do much more than that. We’re trying to insert animal-welfare provisions into the large-scale breeding equation."[12]
In response to opponents who argue that the initiative is a "backdoor attempt at targeting confined animal feeding operations (CAFOs) in Missouri" supporters said that that was a separate issue. Barbara Schmitz, of the Missourians for the Protection of Dogs, said, "There's absolutely no intent to come back and somehow reach in to animal agriculture."[13]
Cardinals skipper Tony La Russa said, "Missouri is known as ‘the puppy mill capital of America’ because of the large number of commercial dog breeding kennels found throughout the state. Tens of thousands of dogs suffer in these facilities from inadequate shelter, lack of veterinary care, and harsh breeding conditions."[9]
In response to opponents who argue that the measure will lead to future restrictions and regulations, Humane Society of the United States president and CEO Wayne Pacelle said, "The measure is what it is. It's just about dogs. There is no suggestion there is farm animal language in there. It's about dogs." He added, "Any future reform would have to go through the normal process of making new laws. In the legislature the farm bureau has great power. I don't think there is any risk on that front."[

Missouri Earnings Tax Initiative, Proposition A (2010)
According to the Missouri Secretary of State's office, the official ballot title reads as follows:[7]
Official Ballot Title:
Shall Missouri law be amended to:
repeal the authority of certain cities to use earnings taxes to fund their budgets;
require voters in cities that currently have an earnings tax to approve continuation of such tax at the next general municipal election and at an election held every 5 years thereafter;
require any current earnings tax that is not approved by the voters to be phased out over a period of 10 years; and
prohibit any city from adding a new earnings tax to fund their budget?
The proposal could eliminate certain city earnings taxes. For 2010, Kansas City and the City of St. Louis budgeted earnings tax revenue of $199.2 million and $141.2 million, respectively. Reduced earnings tax deductions could increase state revenues by $4.8 million. The total cost or savings to state and local governmental entities is unknown.
Fair Ballot Language:
A “yes” vote will amend Missouri law to repeal the authority of certain cities to use earnings taxes to fund their budgets. The amendment further requires voters in cities that currently have an earnings tax, St. Louis and Kansas City, to approve continuation of such tax at the next general municipal election and at an election held every five years or to phase out the tax over a period of ten years.
A “no” vote will not change the current Missouri law regarding earnings taxes.
If passed, this measure will impact taxes by removing the ability of cities to fund their budgets through earnings taxes. The only exception is that voters in cities that currently have an earnings tax may vote to continue such taxes.

The number of qualified former prisoners of war and the amount of each exemption are unknown, however, because the number who meet the qualifications is expected to be small, the cost to local governmental entities should be minimal. Revenue to the state blind pension fund may be reduced by $1,200.

Mortage
Mortgage interest rates improved slightly this past week on mixed economic data. Industrial Production, Capacity Utilization, Building Permits, and the Philadelphia Fed Business Index were weaker than expected. September Housing Starts increased 0.3% on expectations that starts would fall by 3.5%. Weekly jobless claims fell slightly. The Fed's Beige Book, a survey of economic conditions in the 12 Fed districts, showed modest improvement compared to the previous report which showed slow economic activity. It is widely expected that the Fed will announce the details of its second round of quantitative easing at the conclusion of its FOMC meeting on November 3rd. It is expected that the Fed will purchase longer dated Treasuries to help support lower interest rates.

Gospel Great Tye Tribbett Admits He and His Wife Committed Adultery on Each Other
Gospel singer Tye Tribbett went against the beliefs he was taught as a kid and his numerous spiritually uplifting songs when he cheated on his wife a year ago.
His misstep resulted in her doing the same thing to him. Tribbett, a Stellar Award winner, had an affair with a woman from his choir, Greater Anointing — known as G.A. He said it was with a woman he and his wife had counseled, but the relationship became “her and I more than the three of us. It got out of control.”
After Tribbett’s wife found out about his side relationship, she sought revenge by cheating on him with another man. Both of their infidelities almost ended the couple’s marriage of 13 years, but the two found a way to work it out after he took a sabbatical.
Now, Tribbett is looking for a new start with his life and new album, “Fresh,” which was released this week. This will be Tribbett’s first solo album without his choir, which has released three albums with him.
The 34-year-old singer opened up about his turmoil in a recent interview. The Associated Press: You and your family have been through a lot of drama. How did you fall into the trap of cheating on your wife?
Tribbett: I thought it was something that’ll never happen. I saw infidelity with my mom and dad who was a pastor, which made them split. I told myself that I would never do that. So when it happened in my marriage, it was like “Whoa.” God broke down my self-righteousness, my pride.
AP: How did you feel when she did the same to you?
Tribbett: As a husband it is PARAMOUNT to be there for your wife emotionally, and I blew it and I wasn’t there for her, which opened her up to fall into the same trap and commit the same sin as I did! I’m just so grateful that it wasn’t the end for us!
AP: What led you to cheat?
Tribbett: (Televangelist) Joyce Meyers gave the best explanation of what my situation was about. She said lust has no conscience. It doesn’t care if you’re married, doesn’t care about your responsibility, doesn’t care if you’re a pastor. It wants what it wants when it wants. It doesn’t have to be because of lack for lust to take hold.
AP: How was it for you when you and your wife took a break from each other?
Tribbett: When I was between my house and mom’s home, I was contemplating suicide — almost every day.
AP: Like any other gospel artist, you preach against what you and your wife have done to each other. Does your approach change on how people should live their life through your beliefs?
Tribbett: I still have to say the same thing as before because it’s a sin. I still say it’s wrong. But my approach is more compassionate. It’s not as militant. It’s easier to preach against something that’s not your struggle. Through this situation, this humiliation has made me walk in humility.
AP: How do you expect people to listen to you now?
Tribbett: I don’t know. It’s been very difficult to face people who look up to you. … But this situation made people see that leaders are not above what they teach. I’ll never choose this again, but I’m grateful that it happened.
AP: How much has your relationship with your wife changed?
Tribbett: Every second, it’s like we are texting each other. We’ve been married for 13 years, but it’s kind of like we are dating again. Personally, this is a fresh start for me as a husband and a father.
AP: What type of advice would you give to someone who is toying with the idea of cheating?
Tribbett: Don’t trust yourself. You’re thinking to yourself, “We’ll just text.” Your limits are going to keep getting broader and broader. That’s how we deceive ourselves. You need to flee. Run!
AP: How about the ones who have followed through with the act?
Tribbett: I will say it’s tough, but restoration is possible. … God is able to restore your marriage and bring it back to life. I’m a witness to that. I thought it was a wrap! I wasn’t concerned about my career. It’s all about total submission, total surrender. The temptation will come back only to show your deliverance.
AP: How has the breakup between you and G.A. gone so far?
Tribbett: I was so excited about the new, but didn’t consider the end. One of the things that had to end was G.A. I stood up before the choir, which was the saddest day of my life, and told them I had to release them. But we’re still family and we’ll always be family.
AP: What should people expect from your new album?
Tribbett: It’s definitely more about the heart than the hype. It’s not a sad CD, saying, “I messed up.” It’s not that at all. Expect to see where I was, where I am and where I’m going to be.

967 Million of Your Federal Tax Dollars Goes to Abortion Organizations
Six organizations that perform or promote abortion received at least $967 million in federal funding in fiscal years 2002 through 2009, according to a new report from the Government Accountability Office. The report, made public June 16, looked at government funding given to Advocates for Youth, the Guttmacher Institute, International Planned Parenthood Federation, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Population Council of the United States, and Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States.
GAO had been asked for the report by Rep. Pete Olson, R-Texas, and 30 other members of Congress, including five senators.
“With the national debt over $13 trillion — costing every American $118,000 — we must apply strict scrutiny to every federal dollar allocated,” said Olson at a June 16 news conference at the U.S. Capitol.
“That this tax money is spent by organizations that offend the majority of Americans (who oppose taxpayer funding of groups that promote or perform abortions) only further justifies the need for this alarming report,” he added.
The GAO report showed the following government funding:
– Advocates for Youth, $8.7 million.
– Guttmacher Institute, $12.7 million.
– International Planned Parenthood Federation, $3.9 million.
– Planned Parenthood Federation of America, $657.1 million.
– Population Council of the United States, $284.3 million.
– Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States, $300,000.

WORD OF THE DAY
Let's look at the life of Joseph son of Jacob, and what we can learn from him.
Joseph in the book of Genesis was the overconfident brother of 10 older brothers. He was known to his older brothers as their father's favorite.
For this reason his 10 older brothers conspired against him and sold to slave traders, while telling their father that Joseph had been mauled by an animal.
Joseph had been given dreams of god's plan for his life; so with confidence and strength, he endured.
Joseph had to go through the pit and the prison to get to the palace.
We should develop ourselves during the down times when we sufer injustice of hardshop; complaining doesn't do any good.
We are not learning while we are complaining. In every experience there's a leeson. learn it and grow stronger.
when life knocks you down, just make sure it knocks you to your knees. Realize that self promotion can never replance divine promotion.
Each time Joseph tried to promote himslef it worked against him.
Look what happened in genesis 40: verses 9-25 Joseph asked the cief cupbearer to recommend him to Pharaoh. He did not remember Joseph.
Joseph learned the hard way that success comes from God, and we must give him credit for it.
The only advancements that matter is the kind that God gives. When your dream is realized it may different than you ever imagianed.
When Jospeh was a boy he dreamed of power for his own gain. But God had something bigger for him to save a nation.
If your dreams are self centered do not expect God to get involved in them, because what God his mind, will exceed your expectations, benefit others, and promote His kingdom--not yours. TO GOOD BE THE GLORY. BY SHIRLEY BELT-PRODUCER

Todays Verse
I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.
— Psalm 40:8 (NIV)
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Too many of us are paranoid about the word law and find it hard to hear a scripture like this. But we must recognize that the goal of the New Covenant of grace and the gift of the Spirit is that God's law is written on our hearts and demonstrated in our lives. God is not concerned that it be written on tablets of stone. Jeremiah prophesied of such a day when the focus of God's people would be their desire to do God's will -- a passion to love the things our Father loves and despise the things he despises.-Hearlight

Today's Verse
Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
— Psalm 51:12 (NIV)
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
In the face of sin and separation from God, grace is a refreshing stream that restores salvation. But the joy of salvation is found only when we realize and accept the forgiveness, grace, and restoration God has given us -- when we drink from the stream of grace. The joy of salvation is sustained in a changed lifestyle and an ongoing recognition that we walk with God.-Heartlight

How do you handle unhappy customers?
How do you handle unhappy customers?
Is everyone always going to be happy? Is the customer always right?
Whether you own your own company and deal with the customer first hand or you work for a company and have to deal with the customer. In any business providing excellent customer service is on the top of the list with providing a good product or service, staying professional and having good communication with your customers. Most companies will have a compliant in its life time as a business. Businesses that don't bother about satisfying their customers usually get more customer complaints. Answering them can, of course, cost the company money. Many companies that have plenty of business feel they don’t need to bother with complainers.
A company that responds and apologizes mollifies the complaining customer. But some of these companies never try to rectify the problem. The act of responding to the customer and apologizing is good business. Not fixing the problem is risky, though, and may backfire on the company. Sometimes you can go the extra mile and still have unhappy customers no matter what.
Unfortunately, there are dishonest customers who will make false claims to get some bonus. Some people will use a product or piece of clothing and then return it, saying they weren't satisfied. Since it is often difficult to tell if the complaint is valid or not, the company will follow the adage, "The customer is always right." But since some dishonest people repeat their crimes, a better adage is, "The customer is always right... once."
A company can also experience a customer who complains and don’t want the problem to be taken care of and this can be a very big issue for the company. Since word or mouth is the biggest form of advertising, it is said that for every unhappy customer they will tell 13 people about his or her dissatisfaction. This is not what you want for your company. The customer can try and ruin the company reputation, just to satisfy their self. Make sure you keep good records as a company showing that you did everything you could to try and rectify the situation the best you could incase there is every a question from a customer, potential customer or if a complaint goes to companies like the BBB.
Also remember that not every customer is right for your business. Here is a list of five reasons why.
1: It makes employees unhappy
2: It gives abrasive customers an unfair advantage
3: Some customers are bad for business
4: It results in worse customer service
5: Some customers are just plain wrong
Do your best as a company not to have a complaint, but if this does happen do you best to rectify the situation. Communicate early and often, look at the situation from the customer’s viewpoint,
Leave the door open for more conversations and apologize no matter who is in fault,

Stay Positive From Your Real Estate Broker: Shirley Belt
There are times when we must go through negative situations. Maybe people say something negative about us, or they show rejection or even resentment against us. In such situations, it may be difficult to stay positive. We may be inclined to react negatively towards them. Matching negative behavior with negative behavior won‘t do us any good; doing so will just make the situation worse. People may behave even more negatively to us. Our day would be filled with anger and disappointment. At the end, nobody wins.
Though it’s not easy, it’s important to stay positive in negative situations. Beat the negative situations by staying positive. Match negative behavior with a positive attitude!
Realize that you can find opportunities in negative situations. Albert Einstein said: “In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity.” Realize that you can’t please everyone. In fact, nobody can. Sometimes you need to just let some people go. Realizing this will relieve you from a lot of unnecessary burden so that you can focus on the people that you can positively interact with

Free Clinic in St. Charles, Missouri
Along with lost wages, the lost of insurance
benefits came with it after people lost their jobs due to layoffs or businesses shutting their doors in this rough economy. Although, some qualified for Cobra (Consolidated
Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act) which gives you a choice to choose to temporarily keep the group health
insurance benefits that you otherwise lose after you
reduce your work hours, quit a job, or lose your job.
Most can’t afford to pay the high premiums that comes with this plan. Many Americans have been left out in the cold with health issues that require many doctor visits as well as medication to treat their condition—both of which they can’t afford. This leads to sicker and unhealthier Americans and an increase in ER and Urgent Care visits which creates high medical bills that cannot be paid.
The clinic is staffed by volunteer physicians,
nurses, radiological and laboratory technicians. This clinic is located just off Veterans Memorial Drive, adjacent on the west side of St. Joseph hospital in the Biag’s Medical office building, at 2 Harbor Bend Court in Lake St. Louis.
If you are between the ages of 18 to 64 with no insurance and reside in St. Charles, Lincoln, Warren and Montgomery Counties, you can call 636-561-3133 to make and appointment and get more information about the clinic.

What Is A Short Sale
A short sale is a sale of real estate in which the sale proceeds fall short of the balance owed on the property's loan. It often occurs when a borrower cannot pay the mortgage loan on their property, but the lender decides that selling the property at a moderate loss is better than pressing
the borrower. Both parties consent to the short sale process, because it allows them to avoid foreclosure, which involves hefty fees for the bank and poorer credit report outcomes for the borrowers. This agreement, however, does not necessarily release the borrower from the obligation to pay the remaining balance of the loan, known as the deficiency.
In a short sale, the bank or mortgage lender agrees to discount a loan balance because of an economic or financial hardship on the part of the borrower. The home owner/debtor sells the mortgaged property for less than the outstanding balance of the loan, and turns over the proceeds of the sale to the lender. Neither side is "doing the other a favor;" a short sale is simply the most economical solution to a problem. Banks will incur a smaller financial loss than would result from foreclosure or continued non-payment. Borrowers are able to mitigate damage to their credit history, and partially control the debt. A short sale is typically faster and less expensive than a foreclosure.
It does not extinguish the remaining balance unless settlement is clearly indicated on the acceptance of offer. Lenders often have loss mitigation departments that evaluate potential short sale transactions. The majority have pre-determined criteria for such transactions, but they may be open to offers, and their willingness varies. A bank will typically determine the amount of equity (or lack thereof), by determining the probable selling price from an appraisal or Broker Price Opinion (abbreviated BPO or BOV). Given the unprecedented and overwhelming number of losses that mortgage lenders have suffered from mortgage failures that in part triggered the Financial crisis of 2007–2010, they are now more willing to accept short sales than ever before. For "under-water" borrowers who owe more on their mortgage than their property is worth and are having trouble selling, this presents an opportunity for them to avoid foreclosure .

The Big differences between Older and Younger Adults 10-8-10
American adults from young to old disagree increasingly today on social values ranging from religion to relationships, creating the largest generation gap since divisions 40 years ago over Vietnam, civil rights and women's liberation.
A survey by the Pew Research Center highlights a widening age divide after last November's election, when 18- to 29-year-olds voted for Democrat Barack Obama by a 2-to-1 ratio.
Almost eight in 10 people believe there is a major difference in the point of view of younger people and older people today, according to the independent public opinion research group.
That is the highest spread since 1969, when about 74 percent reported major differences in an era of generational conflicts over the Vietnam War and civil and women's rights. In contrast, just 60 percent in 1979 saw a generation gap.
Asked to identify where older and younger people differ most, 47 percent said social values and morality.
People age 18 to 29 were more likely to report disagreements over lifestyle, views on family, relationships and dating.
While older people cited differences in a sense of entitlement. Those in the middle-age groups also often pointed to a difference in manners.
Religion is a far bigger part of the lives of older adults. About two-thirds of people 65 and older said religion is very important to them.
Compared with just over half of those 30 to 49 and 44 percent of people 18 to 29. In addition, among adults 65 and older, one-third said religion has grown more important to them over the course of their lives.
While 4 percent said it has become less important and 60 percent said it has stayed the same. Younger people are more tolerant around the notion of morality and work ethic.
The differences in point of view are pretty much felt across the board, said the director of the Pew Social and Demographic trends Project.
He cited a greater tolerance among younger people on cultural issues such as gay marriage and interracial relationships.
Still, he noted that the generation gap in 2009 seems to be more tepid in nature than it was in the 1960s, when younger people built a defiant counterculture in opposing the Vietnam War and demanding equal rights for women and minorities.
Today, it's more of a general outlook, a different point of view, a general set of moral values, according to recent studies.
Among the study's other findings getting old isn't as bad as people believe in terms of health, but isn't as good when it comes to lifestyle.
While more than half of those under 65 think they will experience memory loss when they are older, only one-quarter of people 65 and older say they do so.
Older people reported fewer instances than expected of problems such as serious illness, not being able to drive, being less intimate or depressed.
On the other hand, older adults end up having less leisure time than expected. While 87 percent of those under 65 think they will have more time for hobbies and other interests in older age.
Only 65 percent of older people report having more time for hobbies and other interest. Life at 65 and older also fell below expectations when it came to time with family, travel, having more financial security and less stress.
Hispanics are more likely to report problems in old age. About 35 percent of Hispanics 65 and older say they have a serious illness, compared with 20 percent of whites and 22 percent of blacks in the same age group.
Most Older Hispanics reported being depressed, lonely or a burden to others than did whites and blacks. They also were less likely to do volunteer work or be involved in their communities.
Younger people are more likely to embrace technology. About 75 percent of adults 18 to 30 went online daily, compared with 40 percent of those 65 to 74 and about 16 percent for people 75 and older.
The age gap widened over cell phones and text messaging. About 6 percent of those 65 and older used a cell phone for most or all of their calls.
11 percent sent or received text messages. That's compared with 64 percent of adults under 30 for cell phone use and 87 percent for texting.
Americans differ on when old age begins. On average, they say 68. People under age 30 believe it begins at 60, while those 65 and older push the threshold to 74.
The most Interesting part of the study was of all those surveyed in every age group, most said they wanted to live to 89.

Word for the Day
Word for the day 10-8-10
Each believer decides who rules his life, by either actively surrendering to Christ or deliberately going his own way.
Even those who try to avoid the issue by making no choice at all unknowingly opt for self-rule.
The fullness of the spirit and godly character await those who choose God over self.
No one produces these amazing qualities in himself.
God wants every Christian to be filled with the Spirit, Many Christians are not sure what this means or what this looks like.
To help us understand that whatever fills us controls us.
Trying harder to be godly will never work. Character transformation occurs when we submit to God, giving Him complete control of our lives.
Only then will the spirit be free to produce fruit that remains even in the deepest, darkest storms.
Surrendering may not seem like a way to advance, because you feel you don’t have control,
But in reality were just handing over the controls to God and saying
You guide me where you want me to go, doing so require a lot of trust.
We serve a God who is worthy of our faith and confidence.
Read Matthew 11-13 ; 14-16; 23-24; Ephesians 5:18-21

Pastor Eddie Long.
With everything going in the Christian community today, can we afford another scandal? Unbelievers in today’s society are trying their best to take God and other religious beliefs out of everything.
We have those out there who say why should I go to church there are so many wrong doings and it’s all about the money?
I don't trust the Priest, Pastors, Bishop, and Ministers and so on, they are doing more sin than those they are teaching or preaching to.
Should we care about who our leaders are sleeping with?
Should we care about what they do on their own time behind closed doors?
Are we guilty until we prove our innocents?
On Tuesday September 21, 2010 two men filed a lawsuit claiming that the Prominent Atlanta, Georgia pastor Eddie Long coercied them into sex. The allegation filed said that the pastor used his position as a spiritual authority on his employees as well as young men members of his New Birth Missionary Baptist Church.
According to CCN on Wednesday a spokes man for Long told them the allegations are “a case of retaliation and a shakedown for money by men with some serious credibility issues.”
Long who is considered one of the nation’s top black preachers is denying these allegations and denouncing homosexual behavior. An article in the Southern Poverty Law Center’s magazine called him “one of the most virulently homophobic black leaders in the religiously based anti-gay movement.”
Do you think this will impact the black churches around the nation? Why and Why not? Please let us know what you think about this scandal?

Word of the day 9/18/10
The poorest man in the world is not the one without money; he's the one without a vision. But vision requires focus.
When you spread yourself too thin you become mediocre at everything and excellent at nothing. Failure can result from saying yes to too many things.
When our plate is full doing what God has given us to do, learn to say no to everything else.
No sets you free from other peoples expectation and the need for their approval.
If you try to fight on every front you will wear yourself out and fail to win where it counts.
You lose when you fight the wrong battle fight at the wrong time,
Fight because you need to win to feel good about yourself,
Fight becuase you need to win to feel good about yourself,
Fight though the battle has been lost but your pride won't let you swallow it
YOu should stay focused on your goals: keep your eyes on the prize that God has set before you.
If the enemy can't defeat you, he'' distract you with side issues or disqualify you by getting you to make bad decisions.
Either way he wins and you lose.
If you were charged with being a Christian would there be enough evidence to convict you ?

Homeowners facing foreclosure should be aware
Scam artists are preying on the vulnerability of desperate homeowners. These scam artists identify themselves as foreclosure rescue companies or foreclosure assistance firms, and claim they can help you save your home. Instead, they make a quick profit through fees or mortgage payments they collect from you.
The Federal Trade Commission seeks to prevent fraudulent, deceptive, and unfair business practices in the marketplace and advises troubled homeowners to avoid any business that:
* guarantees to stop the foreclosure process – no matter what your circumstances.
* instructs you not to contact your lender, lawyer, or credit or housing counselor.
* collects a fee before providing you with services.
* accepts payment only by cashier’s check or wire transfer.
* encourages you to lease your home so you can buy it back over time.
* tells you to make your mortgage payments directly to it, rather than your lender.
* tells you to transfer your property deed or title to it.
* offers to buy your house for cash at a fixed price that is not set by the housing market at the time of sale.
* offers to fill out paperwork for you.
* pressures you to sign paperwork you haven’t had a chance to read thoroughly or that you don’t understand.

DEALING WITH CONFLICT
If you find yourself dealing with conflict with others, you would probably benefit from being more assertive and by developing conflict resolution skills. Assertiveness isn't just getting your needs met, but Learning to be assertive in ways that respects other people's needs as well will go a long way.
Here's How:
1.Stay Focused: Sometimes it’s tempting to bring up past seemingly related conflicts when dealing with current ones. Unfortunately, this often clouds the issue and makes finding mutual understanding and a solution to the current issue less likely, and makes the whole discussion more taxing and even confusing.
2.Listen Carefully: People often think they’re listening, but are really thinking
about what they’re going to say next when the other person stops talking. Truly effective communication goes both ways.
3.Try To See Their Point of View: In a conflict, most of us primarily want to feel heard and understood.
4.Respond to Criticism with Empathy: When someone comes at you with criticism, it’s easy to feel
that they’re wrong, and get defensive. it’s important to listen for the other person’s pain and respond with
empathy for their feelings.
5.Own What’s Yours: Realize that personal responsibility is a strength, not a weakness. Effective communication involves admitting when you’re wrong.

Evidence of Repentance of our sins 9-11-10
Someone once stated that when a person gets real salvation even his dog and cat will know. When an individual experiences real genuine repentance, the world in which He or She circulates will know it.
Their lives will change they will be different. He or she will interact differently with His or Her companion, children and friends. The people where you work will see the difference in you.
This is the power of genuine repentance.
Repentance is the first journey to salvation.
When a person experiences this foundational work of the spirit
It prepares His or her heart for the next step of water Baptism in the name of Jesus Christ and for receiving the Holy Spirit
One cannot bypass the essential element of repentance, for it is vital to experiencing the full plan of salvation.
Ezekiel the prophet wrote of the effects of repentance, water Baptism and receiving the Spirit of God.
He declared God’s promises: A new Heart also will I give you and a new spirit will I put within you. And I will take away the stony heart
Out of your flesh and I will give you a heart of flesh Ezekiel 36:26

Bringing Up a Moral Child 9/11/2010 Show Topic
Many parents, including single parents, are raising well-adjusted, moral children who successfully enter adulthood. Why are these families successful when so many others are not? What do they do that others don't? More importantly, how can you successfully help your children in this often-perilous journey to adulthood?
In spite of all the negative trends, many parents, including single parents, are raising well-adjusted, moral children who successfully enter adulthood.
Why are these families successful when so many others are not? What do they do that others don't? More importantly, how can you successfully help your children grand-children and other children in this often-perilous journey to adulthood?
By Using God's way to discipline. Consider that God chastises Christians out of love for them.
Hebrews 12:5-11 says; "And you have forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as children —'My child, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, or lose heart when you are punished by him; for the Lord disciplines those whom he loves, and chastises every child whom he accepts.
God is treating those who he chastises as children; for what child is there whom a parent does not discipline? "Parents disciplined us for a short time which seemed best to them, but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share his holiness.
Discipline always seems painful rather than pleasant at the time, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
The preceding passage from Hebrews quotes Proverbs 3: verses11&12, comparing God's correction of us as His children to human parents disciplining their children out of love and concern for them.
These verses teach us several vital principles regarding discipline. From them we learn the following:
(1) God disciplines in love.
(2) Discipline is not rejection but part of our maturing and growth.
(3) Discipline produces respect.
(4) Discipline produces good fruit and righteousness.
The Greek word for "discipline" in the passage in Hebrews includes the concepts of education and training, corrective guidance and corrective punishment.
Proper child rearing involves all of these elements of training and focuses on the long-term benefits to the child. Another biblical principle that parents should consider when evaluating methods of discipline is expressed by the apostle Paul.
Which He tells us; Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves" (Romans 13:1-2).
What about hurting Your Children’s feelings? Some parents are opposed to corrective discipline because it hurts their children's feelings. Yet this is what discipline is supposed to do. Hebrews 12:11 explains that there is a "painful" aspect to discipline.
The Bible tells us that children are wonderful gifts, truly blessings from God (Psalm 127:3). Yet they need guidance and instruction. They each need the special one-on-one care and teaching that only parents can give.
Bringing up children from helpless babes to responsible, moral adults is perhaps the greatest responsibility we can have in this life, and it can bring great rewards.
Yes it can and the blessing for doing so is twofold. First, children derive all the benefits from living in a godly home and being taught God's ways.
And Secondly, we parents become spiritually mature as we struggle with ourselves and the challenges of raising godly children in an ungodly world.
We should also discipline With Encouragement; this may seem like an oxymoron.
Jeannette Yes it does, how could discipline possibly be encouraging? Isn't it always painful and depressing?
The answer is no, discipline need not always be that way. Here's why:
Punishment and discipline are not synonyms, as many assume. Discipline is simply training that corrects, shapes or perfects one's moral character or mental faculties. While discipline includes punishment, punishment is only one of several disciplinary tools that parents may use in training their children.
So that means Further, discipline can include both encouraging and corrective elements.
Yes and here are some encouraging things parents can do to discipline their younger children:
Reminders for Children: Before an event, talk to your child about the behavior you expect. For example, say, "When we go to visit Mrs. Smith, I want you to say, 'Hi, Mrs. Smith. Thank you for inviting me to your home.'"
Affirmation for Children: After explaining the behavior you expect, have your child say, "Yes, Mom," or "Okay, Dad." Verbal affirmations help your child solidify in his or her mind the actions he or she will display.
Modeling: Have your child practice what he or she will say or do before the activity. Again, this helps prepare a child for the behavior expected.
Praise: We all appreciate praise when we do a good job. Our children generally also respond well to praise and are influenced to future obedience when they receive this kind of encouragement. Praise coupled with an affectionate pat or hug is also highly motivating to our children.
Reward skill development: Occasionally rewarding children when they have mastered a new skill promotes maturity. Be careful, however, not to get into the reward trap where every time a child behaves properly, he or she expects a reward. This can deteriorate into bribery. Remind them; Proper behavior is something we are all supposed to do all the time.
Being a wise and loving parent is a challenging responsibility that helps us prepare for being part of God's eternal family. May we and our children fulfill the wonderful destiny God has in store for each of us!
Sometimes corrective discipline will also be required to help children properly mature. Use of encouraging discipline as described above can lessen the need for correction and strengthen the relationship between a parent and child.

9/4/2010 Religious freedom in America
Todays topic is Religious Freedom in America
Contrary to what you may have learned via the media, at high school or college, America from its inception has been a religious country and was designed to be one.
In the coming decades, upholding religious freedom for Americans of all faiths and
None denomination will be no easy task. The United States is today the most religiously diverse society on Earth and, among developed countries, the most religious.
Expanding religious pluralism combined with culture wars involving religious differences are making our public square an increasingly crowded and sometimes hostile arena.
A quote made by Mr. Land:“I think the greatest threats to religious liberty in the United States for the remainder of my lifetime are going to be attempts to suppress the free exercise of religion.
Where we worship and how we choose to worship should this be an issue in the United States of America? Listeners be advised the opinions you hear are not the opinions of the WGNU 920AM or Matters You Need To Know.
Joining us this morning to discuss this is Michael McFarlane
Michael we know that in our country we have the right to freedom of speech, the freedom of religion. I am a Christian and under that Christian umbrella are many different religions, which do not believe all the same things, which bring me to my first question.
1. Should sensitivity to other groups ever trump freedom of religious expression?
2. Who should be allowed to decide where people can legally and lawfully worship? The citizenry? Legislators? The courts?
3. Is religious intolerance woven into the history of America?
4. Is the tenet of "Separation of Church and State" a legal and societal myth?
5. Is The United States Islamophobic?
We do welcome you comments and views about this matter but, Please very mindful of what you post on this blog Please.

Saturday July 31, 2009 Should we preplan for our love ones funeral
It is a good idea to have a funeral policy for ourself and loves? You can call a local funeral home to talk about what different policies are avalible for you and your family. Don't be afraid to talk about this. I just had a very close friend who grandmother passed this past week and the policy had overlapsed and this left the family in a bind. Please get with your family soon and talk about what each person wishes are, what kind of casket they want, if they want the service to be held in a church or the funeral home.

Unhealthy ways you may be dealing with Conflict/Stress
1. Avoiding Conflict Altogether:
Rather than discussing, issues that have frustrations you in a calm, respectful manner, some people just
don’t say anything to their Husband or wife or someone they are dating, until they’re ready to explode.
This may seems to be the less stressful route—avoiding an argument altogether—but usually causes more
stress to both of you, as tensions rise, resentments fester, and a much bigger argument eventually results.
It's much healthier to address and resolve conflict.
2. Being Defensive:
Rather than addressing a sonmeone's complaints with an objective eye and willingness to understand
the other person’s point of view, defensive people steadfastly deny any wrongdoing and work hard to avoid
looking at the possibility that they could be contributing to a problem.
Denying responsibility may seem to alleviate stress in the short run, but creates long-term
problems when people don’t feel listened to and unresolved conflicts and continue to grow.
3. Overgeneralizing: When something happens that we don’t like, some of us blow it out of proportion
by making sweeping generalizations. Avoid starting sentences with, “You always…” and “You never…”,
as in, “You always come home late!” or “You never do what I want to do!” Stop and think about whether or not this is really true. Also, don’t bring up past conflicts to throw the discussion off-topic and stir up more negativity. This stands in the way of true conflict resolution, and increases the level of conflict..
4. Being Right: It’s damaging to decide that there’s a ‘right’ way to look at things and a ‘wrong’ way to look
at things, and that your way of seeing things is right. Don’t demand that the other person see things the same way, and don’t take it as a personal attack if they have a different opinion. Look for a compromise or agreeing to disagree, and realize that two points of view can both be valid.
5. Psychoanalyzing / Mind-Reading: Instead of asking about the other persons thoughts and feelings,
people sometimes decide that they ‘know’ what the other person is thinking and feeling, based only on faulty interpretations of their actions—and always assume it’s negative! This creates hostility and misunderstandings.
6. Forgetting to Listen: Some people interrupt, roll their eyes, and rehearse what they’re going to say next
instead of truly listening and attempting to understand the other person. This keeps you from seeing their
point of view, and keeps your them from wanting to see yours! Don’t underestimate the importance of really
listening and empathizing with the other person!
7. Playing the Blame Game: Some people handle conflict by criticizing and blaming the other person
for the situation. They see admitting any weakness on their own part as a weakening of their credibility, and avoid it at all costs, and even try to shame the other person for being ‘at fault’. Instead, try to view conflict as an opportunity to analyze the situation objectively, assess the needs of both parties and come up with a solution that helps you both.
I think the following are extreamly good for couples:
8. Trying to ‘Win’ The Argument: This is key for couples, I heard a Dr. says that if people are focused on ‘winning’ the argument, “the relationship loses”! The point of a relationship discussion should be mutual understanding and coming to an agreement or resolution that respects everyone’s needs. If you’re making a case for how wrong the other person is, discounting their feelings, and staying stuck in your point of view, your focused in the wrong direction!
9. Making Character Attacks: Sometimes people take any negative action from a the other person and blow it up into a personality flaw. (For example, if your husband leaves his socks lying around, looking at it as a character flaw and label him ‘inconsiderate and lazy’, or, if a the wife wants to discuss a problem with the relationship, labeling her ‘needy’, ‘controlling’ or ‘too demanding’.) Both of these creates negative perceptions on both sides.
Remember to respect the person, even if you don’t like the behavior.
